Jennifer Bertrand, HGTV national Design on a Dime Star Winner

Did you happen to see the video shoot taking place recently at Lake Quivira with Jennifer Bertrand, the HGTV national Design Star Winner, and Jonah Nelson of Family Tree? If you did and wondered what was going on, it was the video which will be presented at our “Dock Design on a Dime” kick-off event being held Thurs., April 19, at 7 p.m. in the Clubhouse Ballroom.
The event is open to the community. Please RSVP to Gayle Best at bestgm@bv.com so we can plan the number of tables. A chit bar will be set-up.
The objective of “Dock Design on a Dime” is to enhance the beauty of our shoreline by promoting a beautification program for our dock sites focusing on trees, shrubs, flowers and minor design elements which can have an immediate impact on the appearance of our lakeshore.
The kick-off program is patterned after HGTV’s “Design on a Dime” program, in which a professional designer makes drastic improvements to a room at a very affordable price.
Garden Club members signed up for the opportunity to “win” a donated landscape design plan for their dock site. Twenty-five dock sites were submitted. Jonah Nelson visited the sites and selected finalists. Jennifer Bertrand then interviewed “finalists” at each dock site, with Jonah selecting the three winners.

Please plan on coming to this fun event which will unveil the video, featuring not only Jennifer and Jonah, but also our own LQ “stars” and our beautiful community. How fun to have this in our archives. Jonah will speak to the group about the winning design plans, costs, maintenance and simple design tips to beautify our shoreline. Some products involved will be on display.
