Thomas J. (Tom) Lynch of Shawnee, KS, a Lake Quivira Country Club member, passed away in Rochester, MN, at Methodist Hospital on March 31 due to health complications.
Tom was born June 1, 1943, in Chicago. He married Carolyn in 1963, and was a loving and devoted husband for 48 years. He received his Bachelor’s Degree from Northwest Missouri State in 1965, and served his country in Vietnam from 1968 to 1970.
Tom spent 38 years as an independent insurance agent. He began his career with Crum and Forester, and later joined Mo-Kan Insurance Agency, where he partnered with his mentor, Ed Andresevic. In 1990 Tom started Assurance Associates and acted as owner/agent for 17 years.
Tom was an avid golfer who enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. There was never a shortage of smiles or laughter when Tom was around. He will be dearly missed.
He was preceded in death by: his parents, William and Lois Lynch, his brother Michael Lynch, and nephew Mark Lynch. Mr. Lynch is survived by: his loving and caring wife, Carolyn; son, Matt Lynch; daughter, Kristie (David) Lenz; four grandchildren: Dylan, Blake, Alexia, and Isabel; brother, John (Peggy) Lynch, of Estes Park, CO; and sister, Linda (Denny) Kurzawa, of Winfield, IL.
Funeral Services were April 10 at Atonement Lutheran Church, Overland Park, with burial in Resurrection Cemetery, Lenexa. Memorial contributions may be made to The Gift of Life Transplant House, 705 Second Street, SW, Rochester, MN, 55902.
