To the editor:
I had a dream one night that [someone] would commence to cut down beautiful trees indiscriminately. A dream? No, a nightmare reality at a place I called home for 40 years. A place where one of its assets was trees. A place called Quivira and Tree City.
So who would do this dastardly deed? Who is the culprit?
I was driving along the lane I drove so many times. A nice feeling of forest on both sides of the road. Now there’s some nice forest. . . and a big hole in the air.
Try to remember this, guilty party: Never screw with Mother Nature, and if you do, you’d better have one good excuse!
