Reforestration now in progress

By Donna Williams
Jeff White and his crew have been busy planting trees throughout the golf course and commons areas. Due to the sewer project and Westar’s trimming, we are having to replace many of our trees. Both Westar and the Johnson County Water Department have provided trees for planting, along with funds from the Memorial Fund.
The remaining funds from Ruth Smith’s estate, designated for reforestation, along with other contributions for memorial trees, have been used. Memorial trees for Joe Biron, Rich Noland, Pat Ford and Ann Stewart were planted this past spring.
Donations for memorial trees may be sent to Donna Williams, Memorial Fund Chair, 466 Navajo West, Lake Quivira, KS 66217. Each tree costs in the neighborhood of $200. If you have questions about the Memorial Fund, contact Donna Williams.
