On Saturday, August 26, the Great Quivira Cardboard Boat Race was held on Crescent Beach. As part of the 2017 Pontoon Crawl, the event brought out over one hundred spectators to watch three boats compete for top honors. The strict rules required the competing boats to be constructed with cardboard and duct tape only, requiring the imagination of the top Lake Quivira design teams to complete the task.
