Cassidy Ann Creek

Cassidy Ann Creek, daughter of Connie and Condy Creek, graduated in August with a Master of Fine Art in Studio: Sculpture from Louisiana State University. Prior to graduation, Cassidy held her Master’s Thesis show in April at the Foster Gallery in Baton Rouge. The exhibit was a multi-media, collaborative installation entitled, The Truth About Your Monsters, an immersive exhibition formatted as a walk-through, storybook environment.

This excerpt is from her published thesis:
“My work explores story sharing through collaborative art making scenarios with children and adults. Through these collaborative exercises I am interested in observing how nonlinear stories are created through play. In my recent exhibition, The Truth About Your Monsters, I fabricated an immersive environment that represents a setting of a children’s fantasy story. Interactive stations placed within the setting invite viewers to contribute to the story through imaginative play and drawing.”
Cassidy is currently teaching gifted students in visual art education for St Tammany Parish School in Slidell, Louisiana.
